The surface on which images are
created range in art history and
archeology from stone to now
telematic screens. A current
trend in art history can
represent quite accurately where
in the fields of science and
technology the world stands.
Here, I am interested in
specifically graffito utilizing
public space; public surface on
which to exhibit images or just
color. The following are
reinterpretations of urban art
exposed onto 5x4 c-41 film and
then scanned into the computer
and color corrected in order to
create positive images. With the
use of spray pigment, the
'taggers' increase the gap
between any viewer and the
primary surface whether it be, in
these particular examples, board,
cement or brick. These images
were located on the east end of
the city and the last,
specifically Petticoat Lane.
