pivots in order to capture still
objects, recording not just one
plane of vision but many and from
a rotating vantage point from one
constant axis. The conical camera
will record information on a
single film plane in a stretched
circular panoramic format. With
the following set of composites,
I used digital substitutions to
create these circular images.
After photographing consecutively
in a full rotation, I used
digital post production to stitch
a 360 degree view. From where I
stand and from what angle I am
photographing become the axis and
pivot, whether I am walking the
perimeter of a building in order
to photograph from above,
physically circling around an
object at eye level, or simply
pivoting from a single spot. More
